L Warne, Spokane, WAGina Campbell was helpful beyond expected. I inadvertently walked into her shop, 1889 Salvage Co, with my hodgepodge
of pink antique depression wear found in the depths of my late great grandmother’s china cabinet. The assortment of glasses had been sitting on my shelf for years. A lady at the shop up the street mentioned that 1889 might do appraisals. With my boxes full of carefully packaged glasses I began to meander that way. Gina was friendly and welcoming upon first introductions. Even on short notice she provided me with a thorough appraisal and gave me a better understanding of my glassware. Each item was given a ballpark value. Afterwards, Gina provided me with her personal opinion in how to proceed in selling my items. I was given different platforms in conjunction with the corresponding markets and price ranges of each. I was also advised to sell my glassware in a bundle as opposed to selling each individual item. Her reasoning why was one I had yet to consider and conveyed her expertise in this field. It was a pleasure going over my items with Gina. Before I coincidentally stepped foot into her shop I had been to a handful of other antique stores with zero luck. I found her to be most helpful and I highly recommend her for future apprising inquiries. |
David HollingsheadExploring the many antique shops along Monroe is an enjoyable exercise in discovering things. Discovering a person who’s
willing and able to assist me in a quest I’ve had for too long, was Gina Campbell at 1889 Salvage Company. I asked about help with appraising some heirlooms, some old and some older guns that come to me by legacy that have been in my family for over 100 years, easily. Gina offered her services, first saying she wasn’t an appraiser, not yet anyway, but that she was endeavoring to attain that goal. She suggested she be allowed to investigate my weaponry and for practice she would try to ascertain values. I brought the guns by her shop where she took pictures and wrote down any pertinent information gleaned from the script on and under the barrels. She asked what I knew about the provenance and shared family lore as I remembered it. I was surprised to hear so quickly from her. It was less a 4 days when she emailed me the estimated values, citing her searches and results along with her professional opinions and suggestions. I would recommend Gina’s services to anyone who needed help in determining values of ‘old and older’ things. I hope to explore more of my attic’s cache of boxes and trunks and will no doubt be in touch with Gina again. |
